Denver weekend

We were in Denver this past weekend, to visit Nick and Jess. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about this visit: meeting Denali for the first time, NOT getting up at 4:30AM for 3 days in a row, hanging out on the front porch or back deck depending upon the suns rays, hearing a presentation about Turkey by Nick and his fellow urban planners at University of CO, savoring numerous  healthy home-cooked meals by Nick and Jess, running a “twelver” with the four of us since we’re all tapering on the same marathon plan (On October 17th, Nick and Jess are running the Denver Marathon while Lloyd and I are running the Des Moines Marathon), and attending a Muse concert at the Pepsi Center.  For a sample of their music, see http://www.myspace.com/muse/music.

Thanks to Nick, we were able to get last minute Muse tickets off Craig’s list.  We packed into the Pepsi pit with general addmission tickets along with thousands of other people, and had an amazing sensory experience. By the end of the concert, our ears were ringing and we had trouble hearing eachother over appetizers at City O City, one of Nick and Jess’s very favorite downtown places.

During the Muse concert, Nick took a few pics with his phone.  He e-mailed them to me yesterday, but they’re not cooperating with this post!  “Wrong file type”, whatever that means. O well. Maybe Nick can figure out how to post them sometime.

Instead, here are a few pics taken over the weekend on our camera:

Typical front porch scene. Nothing quite like a good cup of coffee with a great book at at 70 degrees and sunny.

Denali is so puppy-cute, with lots of energy!

AND, he likes to cuddle. He wanted to sit on my lap while Nick and Jess were cooking. Of course, it made me think of Boston again.

Thanks, Nick and Jess, for a great weekend!

  1. Fun times. Denali reminds me of bear. Those ears are the best thing! Hopefully Denali is a bit smarter than our hunting dog.

When I think of this weiddng in the upcoming years, I will think fun, magical, and everlasting love! Enjoy the honeymoon, may it last forever!Love your sister,Angie
