7th Annual ChildServe 5K

We just received by e-mail, the following series of photos from Saturday’s ChildServe Run, Walk & Fun 4 the  Kids 5K. This was the 7th annual ChildServe 5K, and the biggest field of runners/walkers yet!  Last year, there were approximately 200 entrants. This year, the race committee was shooting to double this number. Several months ago, Lloyd told them he would run in a tuxedo if they met the goal of 500 entrants.  Well, the goal was exceeded with 680 entrants, which meant tuxedo for Lloyd.  Since he was going to run so dressed up, we decided that I would join him in “the look” by wearing a long black dress to match (Nick and Jess, do you recognize the dress?) . It was COLD on Saturday, and quite windy, so our fears of sweating up a tuxedo and a dress were never realized. We were, in fact, barely warm enough as we ran, and got quite chilled at the finish as we greeted all the runners and the walkers still coming out of the finish chute.  Here are the photos:

Our time was 23:58, not too shabby less than a week after completing the Lincoln Marathon, and keeping up with daily Farrel's workouts all week

Many Childserve kids participated in the festivities, which included pancakes before/after, kid runs, and numerous games/activities

We had a very good time!
