Haiti

From yesterday’s ”prayer of the day” section of Sojourner’s 1-22-2010 ”Verse and Voice” :

“Break our hearts, Lord, break our hearts. For the lives lost in Haiti, each one loved by you, break our hearts. For thoses who have lost family members–sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, wives, husbands, mothers, fathers–break our hearts. For those who have lost homes and belongings, who sleep on the streets, break our hearts. For the crippling poverty that afflicts millions of Haitians, break our hearts. For our complicity in the sinful structures and systems that lead to oppression and injustice, break our hearts. For the state of your creation–groaning for redemption and restoration–break our hearts. And then put us back together so that with peace, humility, and your perspective, we might work toward seeing your kingdom on earth”.

Amen

  1. DEAN!!!!!Congratulations!I was able to tune in a cploue times the other day and I was so inspired! I couldn't get past the 78 degrees. I had just read the blog and someone asked how you were going to use the bathroom…almost minutes later there you were stepping off and into the zip-up tent! I too wanted to know who the lady was running on the other treadmill? I was on my way to do a run and when I got outside the temperature read 80 degrees! I wasn't out there nearly as long as you were up there I know how tough my run was…and I still couldn't possibly imagine how you felt after running for much longer, much faster and with less sleep! Hats off to you Dean…sneakers too )Hello to everyone! Happy Summer!Watching you online was really cool though, I'm about to check out YOUTube for a few clips! Thanks for the tip!
