In honor of Eden’s birthday
Posted in Uncategorized on May 3rd, 2008 by vickiWhile thinking about Eden’s first birthday today, our thoughts drifted back about 25 years ago to July of 1983 when her daddy, Reuben, had his first birthday. We lived in Racine, Wisconsin at the time. Didn’t know it yet, but 5 months after Reuben’s birthday, on very cold winter day, our family would be driving a U-Haul across the plains to Sioux Center, Iowa, which would be our next home for 8 years. At the time of Reuben’s first birthday, Nicholas was almost 3 years old and Kristin was 4. Kim was almost ready to be born in Korea (she was born 12 days after Reuben’s birthday). So does anybody think Eden looks like Rueben? I had some trouble re-sizing the scanned images, so hopefully you can see them clear enough. Reuben’s head had a tendency to burn in the sun, so he usually wore at hat until he got enough hair to buffer the son. As you can see, his hat landed in the pool. A few moments later, with his T-shirt back on to block the sun, he decided that grass made a better head covering than his hat:)
mom, thanks for posting the photos! eden does look a lot like me in the last one, but there is quite a bit of heidi in her too!
as for fixing the size of the photos, you need to crop them before you upload them, as there is a lot of white space around each one that makes the photo itself seem smaller. call me if you cant figure it out
yes i agree.. eden looks lke reuben in the last one… wow reubs.. you had quite the blonde hair… !!
i do see reubs in eden! hard to recognize when you look at reuben now, but easier to see when he was a wee one! so cute!!
