McDonald’s Memories Continued
Posted in Uncategorized on December 18th, 2007 by vickiReuben, I believe this is the Wyoming McDonald’s you were referring to. Truly, the coolest one we’ve ever seen.
Oh, and talking about McDonald’s, let’s not forget the McDonald’s table that we picked up on our way through Madison, WI, way back in 1984. Reuben (2) , Nicholas (3 1/2), and Kristin (5). As we were passing through Madison to see Uncle Butch/Aunt Lisa/cousins (on one of our many 10 hour trips from Sioux Center, IA, to Racine, WI, to see Grandma and Grandpa Veenstra) we noticed that all the tables and chairs of a closing Madison McDonald’s were being trashed! We decided to strap one of the table/chair sets to the top of our car at the time, and we drove with it strapped to the car, all the way to Sioux Center. Once in Sioux Center, we installed it in our yard and it lasted through several years as our yard center-point. Many picnics, much drawing, painting, pumpkin-carving took place on this dear table before it died from harsh Iowa winters.
I didn’t know thats where the table came from!! very cool.
