Boston Update

Posted in Uncategorized on November 25th, 2007

Here are a few pics of Boston taken this AM. She is about 4 1/2 months, and over 30 pounds already. We continue to enjoy her very much. Have to admit though, that we are eager for the puppy stage to mellow. We realize it could be another year or so, or maybe even more, until her CALM adult manners are all in place. She’s making great progress. She is up to running 1.25 miles now, at nice trot, on the left, desired position, loose leash. I’m eager for Boston’s “Inagural Run”, which will likely be 4-5 trail miles in near future with www.wannarun.com friends.

Salome and Isaiah are engaged! He proposed to her last night in Lansing, MI, with rose petals sprinkled over Salome’s livingroom floor, and MANY candles arranged to spell, “Will You Marry Me”? He and his friend arranged the “proposal”, while Salome and her sister, Peace, were upstairs. When they came down, Salome was totally wowed. She said yes:) She was still “screaming” for joy, when she called us. No specific wedding date has been set. Salome says they have to work that out yet, but “maybe next summer”. It’s nice that the engagement could take place on Thanksgiving weekend, with Salome’s sister and one of Isaiah’s friends present. They all shared a Thanksgiving meal together on Thursday, drove to Grand Rapids to pick up Salome’s stuff from our basement apartment yesterday, and then later last night…………………..BIG NEWS. Salome said we could share this news. So that’s why we’re posting. Isaiah recently finished with his coursework for his PhD in theology at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. Currently, he is working on his dissertation from Philly. We think a move to MI is on the horizon:) Salome is in her first year of law school at Thomas Cooley Law School in Lansing, MI. We’re sure they will work something out, to merge their lives together. It is so amazing to think that they are from the same village in Benue State. Never met eachother in Nigeria, but found eachother here in the States, able to speak the same Tiv language. Amazing. They make a great couple. Wonder what their future will hold? CONGRATS, SALOME AND ISAIAH!

27 years ago today, our first son, Nicholas, was born. We were very aware of this memorable event, as we went about our activities today. Children are such a blessing from God, and ya never stop cherishing them. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NICK! Lots of love from your Mom and Dad!

First hour, post-birth. The doctors and nurses left us alone for at least an hour, even after C-section, because of unexpected TRIPLETS born in the room next door:)
