For some odd, very strange reason, Reuben’s birth has been on my mind lately:) Lots of thoughts about the day that we, completely pregnant, left from 4600 Victory Avenue in Racine, WI, to head for St. Luke’s Hospital, after dropping Kristin and Nicholas off at Grandma and Grandpa Veenstra’s. After checking into St. Luke’s the evening of July 1st, and enjoying a quiet evening of anticipation, we woke up on the morning of July 2nd, for a scheduled 7:30AM C-section. Only minutes after 7:30AM, little Reuben Leendert Vanderkwaak was born!!!! In those days, most of us did not know if our babies were going to be boy or girl. We did not know, and we pleased as could be, for another son! It is amazing that Reuben is now a grown man, married, and very expectant father. Time flies. Generations turn over very quickly! We can’t wait to see Reuben and Heidi’s baby!!!!!!!!! This Nana and Papa thing is so very fun!!!!!!!
awww….little deubs! birth is such an amazing miracle. i also cannot wait to reuben and heidi’s miracle to come into the world!!!
one more thing…how i am standing in the picture of me as a 4 year old–spitting image of my own daughter. now that’s crazy!
