We planted a “swamp white oak” tree in our front yard yesterday after work. The evening air was misty moisty as we dug the soil, full of wiggly worms. Aaaghhhhhh, spring is here! After securing the young tree, we went inside as the rain started. We planted this tree in honor of Lloyd’s 15 year anniversary at Childserve. Fall leaves will be red-to-brown, and this tree will grow to great heights over time. As we planted, we fondly remembered the young maple we planted in Sioux Center over 20 years ago, with the help of Nicholas, Reuben and Kim. Kristin was with Anne DeJong that day:) My, how time flies.
