My how time flies and posting possibilites are missed! It’s been awhile since we’ve posted, so here goes. Lloyd is at Childserve at the moment, working on a UST paper that is due NOW. He’s been there much of the day, although we did do a 1-2 hour break early afternoon, over errands/Starbuck’s on Merle Hay. We heard there, that the Johnston Starbucks is due open in May! Soon we will be like you, Kim, with a Starbuck’s pretty much in our back yard! From what I hear, the paper is coming along well, and we are looking forward to a nice evening together. We have 6:15 PM supper plans with friends, at ElMariachi’s. Mmmmm. After our long runs this AM, that’s gonna really hit the spot. Think I’ll take a few IBU before we leave, so my 18 mile legs don’t distract me
So what have we been up to??????? Lots of stuff happening at Childserve, lots of stuff happening in the lives of my clients at Pine Rest. We both love our work. The Pine Rest arrangement is perfect for me right now, even though I do miss hospice! I’ve been doing more reading than normal, having fun with a Thursday AM yoga class, and doing lots of stained glass work. The ladies in my yoga class are very interesting! They are of all ages, and involved in a wide variety of things, from teaching piano, to painting, to journalism, to being a clay artist in DSM, to being a mother of 7 living on a farm 20 miles outside of DSM and doing all things natural. I think I’m the only social worker or runner in the group. It’s been fun getting to know new people, and besides, I absolutely love the yoga and pilates stretches themselves, and all the concentration that is required. I believe that I can see a difference already in core strength as it relates to running. With only 7 weeks to go to Boston (april 17th) this will be important. I’m looking forward to getting to Grand Rapids this Wednesday, to watch Emma for 4-5 days, as Kristin and Curt are on their way to Anne DeJong’s wedding in CA. Hopefully, Emma and I will be able to spend some good time with Kim and Jess as well. Oh, in case you want to see my most recent stained glass creation, here it is. I finished it just in the nick of time before Lloyd arrived back from Ukraine. Curt and Kristin were around for parts of that weekend, so Curt helped to get the piece hanging in the window above the couch before Lloyd arrrived back to the house. It is 2 feet across, with colors that compliment our living space. The design is prairie style, which is Lloyd’s (and mine too) favorite, especially with this house. It really changes as the sun changes throughout the day.
